Let’s talk about honesty for a minute

​When you run a small business, it can be tempting to fudge details or toss around flashy claims just to close a sale. But I’ll be completely straight with you: I will never do that. Your trust means everything to me, and the second I start making wild promises just to get money out of your pocket, I’m lying to you.

​That commitment to truth starts way before a jar ever hits the shelf—it starts with how I source my raw ingredients and what my products can and can't do.

​When a small business orders rendered tallow off the internet claiming to be "100% grass-fed," the reality is you don't truly know what you're getting. Every time I’ve ordered tallow online, it arrives soft. To me, that soft texture tells me there’s either leftover water trapped in it or it was made from trim fat instead of pure suet or it has additives or has been bleached and deodorized, usually this is due to it being trim fat. I could be wrong, but my hands tell me otherwise!

​That’s why I don't buy rendered tallow online. I go straight to the slaughterhouse, pick up raw beef suet, and render it down myself three times.

State/FDA labeling laws

When I’m done, it comes out hard, pure, and completely shelf-stable, which I then vacuum seal. It’s tallow. Period.

​I do the exact same thing with beeswax. Processed wax off the internet is a mystery box—you just don't know what additives are in it. So, I go directly to a local bee farm after they’ve opened their hives, grab their raw wax, and render it down myself. When I order cocoa butter, avocado butter, or plant oils, I stick strictly to reputable distributors who deliver solid, 100% natural ingredients. But for suet and wax? I take matters into my own hands so I can look you in the eye and guarantee what’s inside.

​That same transparency goes right onto my labels. State and government laws are strict, and I follow them to the letter. You cannot label a product as both "skin-safe" and "cooking-safe"—the law doesn't allow it, and frankly, common sense doesn't either! It’s not like you’re frying up a batch of French fries, realize you’re out of cooking oil, and say, "Well, let me just go grab my facial cream out of the bathroom!"

​My labels are straightforward, clear, and compliant. All products at Made 4 Me Soapery are skin products. They are not made to treat, diagnose, or cure any medical skin disease or ailment. They also don't claim to be 2 products in one, which is highly illegal in labeling. What I will do is educate you on how natural ingredients support your skin. They help rebuild your natural skin barrier, or—like our Unfolding Time facial oil with paracress and astaxanthin—they help relax the look of facial muscles and deeply nourish your skin.

​I’m not going to spout off a lie just to make a buck, and I'm far too chicken to break state and federal labeling rules! I want you as my customer to have complete confidence that I will never sell you a product just for the sake of making a sale. You get pure ingredients, hard work, and 100% honesty.
