In 2016 having just moved to Louisiana and not being employed I needed something to occupy my time. A friend, Kay Brown Hutchinson of Raining Manna Soaps in my hometown gave me that opportunity. Armed with a recipe and her instructions, plus watching many YouTube videos, I started making Hot Process soaps. At that point CP truly intimidated me and the HP was my go-to for making homemade soaps. Later I added some body butters and bath bombs, and I signed up for my first festival. By 2019 my products were popular and selling fast. 

Then a family tragedy struck, I spiraled out of control,  and soaping came to an end. Everything shut down, I shut down. Fast forward to 2024, mentally I had recovered, and decided I wanted to retire. I knew I would need something to keep me busy, so many people retire and just sit and waste away. My first thought was, make your soaps, take that leap and dive off into soaping again. So, I spent every free moment of 2024 researching oils, butters, essential oils. I wanted to make a product that would be beneficial for my skin. And I wanted it to be as natural as I could make it. When I slip into a bath does the fragrance linger, is the lather creamy? Does it invite me to sit back and relax? Does the Body Butter or lotion enhance softness of my skin?  Every recipe was truly Made 4 Me.  I started taking notes about questions I had.  Did I like the lather or bubbles, how did the butters or lotions feel and smell when I applied them to my skin, How long did the fragrance last, or how did my skin feel after a long day, and was it still supple? I tested recipes and gave away a lot of products to be tested! All the recipients had to do was tell me their experience and thoughts on the product. Whether it was soaps, body butters,  lotions and my shampoo bar (which is fabulous!) or any of the other products I formulated. They all turned out to be a winner. On January 1, 2025, Made 4 Me was resurrected.

Made 4 Me uses ingredients that, when combined, evokes your senses. All products are lovely to the eyes. Lifting it to the nose makes the richest of fragrance envelope you into fields of flowers, a memory of sitting by a fire in the woods, or a walk at sunset on a faraway beach. Then, when you apply it, you feel the softness as it glides effortlessly across your skin leaving a silky smoothness. The fragrance is strong enough that it lingers, faintly, but reminding you of its presence. 

As women, we do for everyone, our spouse, children, family and friends. Often, we put our needs, our dreams on the back burner, then we move them to a shelf, to be slowly forgotten. We all take baths or showers, so I encourage each of you to slow down when you take that shower or bath. While you are soaping up allow your mind to linger, daydream or just breathe, slow down, then use a lovely body lotion or butter.  Apply it slowly, inhale the aroma, feel the silkiness of your skin.
